The Blackfalds Bulldogs are pleased to announce the signing of 2006-born goaltender, Mikkel Christensen.
The Toronto, Ontario product played for the Oakville Blades in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) last season. He had a 9-5-1 record in 16 games played while posting a 2.23 Goals Against Average and a 0.931 Save Percentage. Christensen also recorded 3 shutouts last season. He stands at six-foot-one and weighs 163 pounds.
Bulldogs’ Director of Hockey Operations, Al Parada, said, “Mikkel is a goalie we had our eye on for a while now and he had a great first year of Junior in Oakville this past season as a 17-year-old and proved he is going to be a very good goalie in Junior.”
Parada continued, “Mikkel has not finished growing yet and, at 6’1”, is very athletic in the net. He tracks the puck very well and makes the big save when you need it.”
Christensen stated, “I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity the Blackfalds Bulldogs organization has given me. I am looking to work extremely hard with the team and coaching staff and to have an all around successful year.”
Parada added, “We are very excited at the potential Mikkel has moving forward. I look forward to seeing Mikkel in a Bulldogs jersey this coming season.”
